Suzie Gallehugh is the creative force behind Suzanna Dai (pronounced “day”), and the label is taken from her first and middle names. After graduating from the University of Texas at Austin, Suzie began her design career in New York City by attending the Fashion Institute of Technology in 2000.
The Suzanna Dai collection debuted in Spring 2009, where it was quickly picked up by legendary NYC luxury retailer Bergdorf Goodman. Shortly thereafter, the line showed up in high-end department stores Takashimaya and Henri Bendel on Fifth Avenue. Bloomingdale’s, Anthropologie, and Nordstrom picked up the line, as well as renowned international boutiques Harvey Nichols and Barney’s Japan, among others.
Suzie infuses her unique personality into each design, while drawing inspiration from her love of intricate embellishments, color, travel, traditional and ancient cultures, and all things vintage.
Celebrity fans of the line include Michelle Obama, Blake Lively, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ginnifer Goodwin, Alicia Keys, Elizabeth Hurley, Vanessa Williams, Sofia Vergara, Christina Hendricks, and Debra Messing.
